What is Writing? What forms of writing are favoured in your class? Do students often create hard copies of text with paper and pencil? What other ways do you have students create text? Below are some ideas and resources to help you think about bringing multimedia into your literacy class.
It might seem overwhelming to think about doing this with your class the first time, but just try one thing at a time. Minecraft PlayThroughA playthrough is when people record their game play. Many elementary students are experts and love to play Minecraft already, so why not let them play for a purpose in school. By using the Minecraft platform students can recreate scenes or make new ones for a favourite book or story. They could then record a narrative while they play. The possibilities are endless of what your students could create using minecraft. Instead of assigning a written response in language arts class ask your students to create and narrate something in minecraft instead.
